Laugh if you must, but you're not and neither am I. That is to say - existing Profiler owners or players wanting greater capabilities....and so what?

CK explained in another thread that the Player will be able to be unlocked (if we pay for it), i assume/hope on features i talked about.

I just wait to know exactly what points and the price tag...

I just have to start saving money now....

That's like asking an HX Stomp to have the same capabilities as a Helix.

Even if a HX stomp is limited compared to a floor, I can use it alone, the stomp offers all the same FXs (not the same number of slots, yes)/amp/cab sims and have snapshots too....

L6 had launched a LT with exactly the same possibilities as the floor (or really/really close) for 1/3 price less....

Kemper had voluntarily limited the software possibilities to explain the price gap. they've wasted software's development time for that.

This new device could have been the way for me to bring a little device every where easily to rehearsal, to try and work on rigs parameters and have a backup just in case....

It should offers the same FXs, same FXs slots number and morph possibilities....

The other limitations are still important to justify the price gap.

In other words ; if this Player had existed (with what i said above), did i buy it instead of the Stage ? Surely not cause the Stage is a Live beast....And the Player won't be able to be my only device

This unit makes me feel it's a Tonex like for 300€ more, i didn't want to buy/try a ToneX cause of the FXs absence (or so few), i have to stay coherent here....

I'm laughing when i read that i'm not the target ; in fact, the ones who say so know quickly i CAN NOT and this is excatly what i'm criticizing.

It could be so simple if you have another utility with the Player (on a pedal board) to disable/don't use FXs blocks you don't want to....The opposite is pretty harder...

The Player could have been the way to enter into Kemper world, instead of that, i see a lot of people writing ; go and buy a ToneX and a multiFXs and i understand this opinion.

It would have been too bad to sell many other units to people like me or new curious potential Kemper owners to discover those marvelous profiles.

I'm sure that instead of canibalized the familly, new owners could think, ok, i've tried this little baby and the sound is just fantastic but for gigging i need a more serious unit....

    That's the Stage

I know this unit ; got already one

The form factor doesn't automatically means you can't have it all.... What does "all" mean after all ?

I know a lot of competitors with 8 Fxs blocks and amp/cab sims.

I've already switched from a multi-FX 32 FXs blocks to a Stage, and i regret nothing at all. I love my Stage

Here, i'm sure we are not able to move Fxs and this could become a problem quickly... A high-gain amp with a noise gate & a comp pre-amp, it's finished....

Even if Kemper purposes to keep the same amount of FXs, there are SO many other loosing stuffs/compromises that still justifies the price gap....

Having a so small form factor to have to buy another multi-FX to add 2-4 FXs, is how to say it , a little weird

I have the impression to be a spoiled child who complains....

    But I just see the list of abandoned functionnalities ;

    - No display ; why not, i will built my presets before and will learn how i've organised my presets/rigs to jump from one to another

    - Three switches , will have to see if the ergonomic is good for me ?!

    - A lot of FXs lost : i'll change my chrystal delay for another one...

    - NO looper ; I use it a lot at home, i think there will be a streaming bluetooth mode instead but this is something i don't do....

    - Number of inputs/outputs ; it's close to my needs except maybe for the pedals.

    - No morph ; i'll try to live without it

    - 10 performances / 5 rigs ; i will have to rationalize my banks but it'll be possible

The number of concessions starts becoming important....

    I agree with you.

I have mixed feelings but, at the end, i stay quite disappointed....

This could have been a good backup/jam solution...

But the display absence (they could just put a 01-10 small LCD display) and the FX's limitations are really problematic for me.

Of course, this new cheaper product can't be a Stage like but there are so many things that disappear, i don't catch why they simplified so....

Some can argue that it's better than a GT1000 core or a ToneX cause you have FXs anyway...

    I want a all-in-one solution....

It's even not logical to argue that it's a good light solution to bring everywhere and tell that if you want more effects, bring external pedals...

I don't want to turn a light solution into a heavy one and i don't want to tap dancing, if i had no matter to do so, i shouldn't have bought Multi-FXs for years and should have bought traditionnal rigs.

I've got a Nux MG-30, it's three times cheaper.... I really enjoy playing it at home

I can understand the price can not be the same cause of the production site (i assume it's built in germany) but it could bring, at least, the same number of FXs...

IMO, they trapped themselves cause the number of Profilers' FXs modules is already small (not a matter for me) but they have to reduce it again to justify the price gap...

I think this point could be easily unlocked to bring the same Fxs number (even if we don't have all the same Fxs as other profilers), it could change my mind to buy it even if i would do compromises on other things (looper, switches,etc....)

For the moment, i'm skipping my turn...

    It's difficult to advise something....

I mean, you've gone twice and, beyond your bug problems (i've never met one), i assume there was another reason(s) for leaving ?!

During the last three years, there were good improvements but IMO even if Liquid Profiling is a real technical huge progress, the sound was already there before...

You met bugs with Rig manager but as you said, it arrives at the end, so i imagine you had already built your rigs/performance and had the habit to set parameters easily on the device.... So i imagine it can't be the only reason....

The Stage is just marvelous (but i'm not objective ; i love it )

A kemper 2 could arrive but C.Kemper seemed to say that it wouldn't stop the 1st developpment/production.... So if it's good for you...

I don’t think it’s so much a matter of the Kone being specifically designed for the Kemper but rather that the DSP is happening in the Kemper rather than in the powered speaker enclosure itself. It is the DSP that makes the speakers sound “flat” or like another speaker in the case of the imprints.

The only other brand i know who offers the "amp in the room" solution with cabs simulations is L6 with their Powercab family. All is integrated into the device.

The advantage is that you can use it with every modelers on the market, you just have to disable the speaker simulation on the modeler.

The drawback is that you have to buy this expensive all-in-one solution...

Kemper started from the observation that poeple who would want a Kone/Kabinet would owned a Profiler. The possibility to only buy a speaker is really good !

Farther than the funny solution i suggested, they could launched a all-in-one Powered solution with DSP on board....

The reason why i suggested this :

Honestly I've never tried using this with an Acoustic guitar (have to use one, cannot show up with an Electric...maybe with my Hollowbody Piezo)

Sorry, i understood that you were going to use your electric guitar.....

May be, you can use this :

    Or this :

I don't know if you've done it but why don't you try internal acoustic effect simulation ?

I had some acoustic rigs and use it in all of mine....

TJ did that vid 3 years ago :

I agree with you that sometimes the difference will be minimal.

On the other side, i've bought a Mickeal Kelly (my avatar) cause i loved the style and color , i disliked the sound on vids and when i bought it, it was the same ; i replaced them. It was night and day and the sound is just glorious, i love it.

But finally, i don't play it cause Lespaul style is just not done for me....I don't feel confortable at all on it (or not as i do on a Strat/superstrat)....And i'm really not sure switching to a NOS Gibson will improve something about this state of fact.

    Interesting disgression !

I've just seen so many corksniffing people worry about the tiniest detail about their guitar, the finish thickness, cable type, IEC cable type, tube brand, potentiometer brand etc. etc., then go on stage looking horrible staring at their feet all night. They would have been way better off paying less attention to all of that and more to their stage presence which is going to be way more noticeable to the people paying them.

I have seen good players playing all levels of gear. Why do people assume that if someone has expensive gear that they can't play as well as they do? I have made a decent amount of money playing my guitar. I use a variety of guitars and other gear, some expensive and some not. Should we all be ridiculed for having an expensive Kemper on the stage?

To me these complaints sound more like jealousy. I have seen people crap all over PRS guitars, until they can afford to get one. Then they brag about them to everyone. I have never subscribed to any of this. We all get to spend our money on whatever we want to. It has nothing to do with your level of skill.

IMO, and following what i've bought/done during all these years with my rigs, my conclusion is : the most important is the chain between Pickups (really important) to speaker, rest is wind.

I've already bought a sommer cable and the incidence on the sound was real.

I broke it and didn't buy another one. I don't record and play in a band at rehearsal and gigs so it's less important.... But if i would be led to record, i would probably improve this part...

It's not a question of opposing good players with cheap device versus bad players with high end ones....

It's just a question of telling honestly what have an incidence on the sound and how.... I join Dynochrome about guitar's detail and some guitarist snobery or cutting hair for nothing....

I've fallen in this trap to think that changing device/guitar should make me a better guitarist....

It's better to buy a good rig from the beginning cause you'll keep it and won't waste money (and time) to change and switch your devices all over the years but it's less and less probant nowdays (poeple love owning and/or changing).

If i had an advice to tell to a beginner it would be ; go and try the guitar in a shop, choose the one on which you feel most confortable, if you dislike the sound ; change pickups.... Done... Enjoy

I think some justify the 1000/2000€ more (or even more ) with sound improvement arguments but in my experience it's not true.... The wood is rarer, the polish/finish is better, you like beautifull object and pay for it ; there's no problem about that...You prefer paying more for american workers instead of asian ones, (the cost is not the same of course).... It's a choice.

I can make an analogy with photography. I've bought a good tripod years ago. This is one rare thing i've kept and cameras have turned over...

Do you feel the sound better or not ?

It should be the case when you disable the cab sim cause you have a speaker sim go into an actual speaker....

Just tick "Monitor Cab off" as adviced there's no link with Kones speakers, don't checkmark Kemper Kone....And use monitor or speaker output....

All is explain in this video :
