Hi all, would you all kindly input your guess price for the upcoming lovely KPA footswitch, I just wanna get a general idea, personally I think unfortunately is gonna be as high priced as the MFC101 from Fractal, so around the $600 or even $800 , but I hope I am wrong, so we'll see, let's have it folks. have a great weekend.
KPA Footswitch Price guess

Free with proof of ownership of a KPA with a valid serial number!!!!!
-
It won't be $800, for sure.
Likely $600 unless the dollar vs. euro will bring that down somewhat...so, 399.00 euro as a baseline.
-
I reckon just shy of 500€. What that translates to stateside, I've no idea. Suits me fine, though.
Cheers,

My guess: 349Euro
-
Intro price: 399€, final price 449€...

Huh, I wish man, I wish
-
Around US$400, it should be priced such that KPA owners will not be discouraged to use it.
-
I think after tax and export/import charges, it might be almost double that...
Cheers,

In really rough ,rounded numbers :
Cost of parts, labour ,logistic and production cannot be higher than 100 $ .
Add another 100 $ for R&D =200 $
Add 50 $ margins =250 $.
Everything above that will be a robbery on fractalistic way. -
The AxeFX controller sells in the US for $750. Given that it is larger, has more switches, and Fractal tend to push the upper boundaries of pricing more than Kamper (AxeFX II-XL sells for $2,500 vs around $2,100 for the non-power Kempers), my guess is that the Kemper Remote will sell between $400 - $500 US. I certainly hope it comes in at or below $400 -- unless it's packing a lot of unique features, even at that price it will be tough for me personally to justify, given the other options out there.
-
Fractal is a US company, though. European companies tend to have to pay a lot of duty when selling their wares in the US, and vice versa. The Axe FX is ridiculously expensive over here (as are American-made guitars, pedals, monitors etc.).

I guess...

I think it will be around £350-£400 but to be honest I don't care what it cost I'll buy one anyway

KPA is premium in terms of it's quality and it's quality is premium because of its innovative approach (profiling). For example Axe-Fx is "just" very good modeler I wouldn't call it premium. What makes KPA premium for me is the ability to steal amp's souls.
On the other hand KPA remote is just remote (or maybe something more - we'll see on release date) - of course I believe it's build quality is top like all German devices.

I think 100$ in materials (I'm assuming quality components), assembly (assume a lot of manual labour the first period of time), logistics, production setup is way too little. Add to that marketing, advertising, etc etc.
The 100$ doesn't make sense. How many hours of development. We're talking from zero to 100%, setting up the specifications, deciding the features, the hardware, finding the right components, laying out the PCB, industrial design, cost of material and labour for a number of test units, development of firmware for both KPA and remote, Testing, going back to the drawing board, testing again, building again, the overhead part of labour costs (like insurance, equipment etc etc), developing marketing plans, ensuring compliance to standards and regulations, bla bla bla. So there's quite a bit of money right there. When do they want to break even? How many units do they expect to sell individual year?
Profit margins: you also have to include the distribution chain's upcharge here, including the retailer's.
How anyone would think this unit would cost only 100$ more than the FCB1010 is beyond me (based on Sweetwater price).

$350-$400.
-
cool, looks like around $500 US is a popular guess, that will translate to about 600 Canadian. nice.
-
I was hoping it would be around $399-$499.00 US.
