would not those same fixed memory positions from Kemper A overwrite whatever is in the same positions in Kemper B, since this is not a standard import/export, but instead a total backup overwrite?

If I backup my Kemper and another owner does the same, and we send the backups to each other and install them, have we now essentially swapped Kempers, including performances?

no it was a defective display, fixed under warranty.

Looking for feedback on which non Kemper 12" guitar speakers have worked best for anyone in an onstage 1x12 cab scenario? I know about the newer modeller friendly Celestions, am wondering how well any manufacturer's regular guitar speakers have performed for anyone doing this?

follow up question- can the Kemper's morphing capability apply to EQ pre/post position switching- say have a profile load with eq in front of the amp, then tap a controller switch to move it to after the amp?
-
What is it about it that you think makes more sense?
the contribution it can make to the overdrive/harmonics characteristics and eq balance in the pre position.
-
Like to hear from anyone who has moved a profile's eq section from post amp to pre amp? This seems like it makes more sense in a way, and yields a more versatile tweaking. What do y'all think?

Guys, thanks for the input! I am not feeding a pa system. My current use is live stage rig in stereo via a Power Rack into two 1x12 open guitar cabs (one is a greenback clone), and the powered cab is a Tech 21 Power engine (60 watt celestion 70/80).
This setup is so much easier to deal with in terms of transport/setup/tear down (my primary motivation) than my tube amp/analog pedal board/post power amp time based fx.
The K is incredibly versatile as you know, but so far not as rich sounding as the analog rig into the same cabinets (in my limited tweaking experience). It's sort of like comparing whole milk to 2%. So I have been wondering if the Kone would be an improvement. I don't really care about a very high degree of authenticity in various signature amp voices, ballpark is fine, but do want the same degree of rich fatness that the traditional analog system yields.
Howard I will try engaging the Kone function as you mentioned.
-
The difference between open or closed back with the Kone was the same as you could expect from a regular guitar speaker, at least to me. I did try my cabinet next to a passive Kabinet, switching back and forth between them and preferred my cabinet, whether it was open or closed back. As for holding their own, its personal preference as far as the sound goes, but if you need volume they will deliver.
I really wanted to like the Kone and used them for nine months or so, but to be honest I didn't care for them and went in another direction. My experience with them isn't typical when compared to the majority of Kone users, so take that into account when considering the worth of my opinion about them.
Did you stay with real guitar cabs? If so, with one of the newer Celestion models built for digital amps?
-
Howard did you like them in an open back cab? Do they hold their own compared to a regular guitar speaker? I know that some of the top commercial profilers prefer regular speakers.

For use in an open back or possibly closed back 1x12, any significant difference other than weight between a Kone vs Neo Kone?

I bought my Power Rack and Remote in Nov 2022, refurbs direct from Kemper in Colorado USA. As of this morning, the remote screen only boots up with an unreadable solid blue display. Additionally, if in browser mode it flickers slightly, but no flicker in Performance mode. Multiple reboot attempts make no difference. Remote cable is fine.Other functions seem ok, but it's still basically unusable live in this condition.
I do see some past dialog about this problem , but never saw any associated comments regarding resolving the issue. Can anyone help?

Could it be that you are hitting the strings harder when rig is set louder giving you a fatter sound? I have a tendency to do this, and I think it's common and a natural way we communicate.
But the rig is not audibly louder, since I compensate for turning up the rig volume with a lower master volume setting to achieve the same overall volume level. But the tonality and thickness is noticeably different. Please try it out, and let us know your thoughts.
-
Unless you have volume sensitive effects after the Stack I suspect it's the placebo effect rather than a real difference in sound.
Would you try it on a profile and let me know what you think?
-
With my power rack powering a 1x12 guitar cab I have noticed that for a given final output volume, running the rig vol high (like 7-10) with the master vol low yields a fatter, more amp-like sound than running the rig vol low (1-3) with the master vol higher to get the same final volume level. A fellow power rack owner agrees.
Why is this- non linearity in the power amp input stage?
-
Am I right in thinking that turning up the Kemper rig volume setting is not equivalent to turning up an amp's master vol and thus driving it's output tubes more without driving the preamp tubes more?
I ask because I find doing this and compensating for equal overall volume with the master vol control yields somewhat fatter tonality than just turning up the master volume does. Is it possible in a profile to adjust only the output tube drive contribution to the profile response?

TAF has a 1978 Dumble ODS that sounds similar to that. One of my main profiles
I did not find this in the TAF downloads via Rig Manager. Care to share that one, or point me to where you found it?

Robben Ford's Dumble, circa 2012, specifically this tone with a tele.

But I have not heard many D profiles, so if anyone knows where to find this, please let me know.

Sorry, guess I was not clear, am not sending anything to the PA. I am asking whether people have had the best results for tone control of the guitar's stage cabs comes from using the monitor out EQ, or the actual individual profile's EQ?

for anyone using the power rack's monitor outs for a stereo onstage rig into real guitar cabs, do you first use the monitor out equalizer, or the actual rig profiles TrebMidBassPres controls, as your primary tone adjusting for the guitar cabs sound? Or possibly a combination of both? Any tips are welcome!
