Hi there,
cause effect slots are rare and the X-slot is occupied by a studio EQ ("Cut the mix") I want to free one slot
by using a Delay with Reverb or a Reverb with delay in ONE slot.
The amount of delay shall be controlled by morphing.
I wish I had a studio EQ per rig without wasting a stereo slot.
Any ideas / suggestions / tips ?

Echo reverb.
Thanks, I tried. I can´t tell you why, but that´s not the "Real Thing" for me.
But I´ll try to play with the parameters.
I live by the Crystal Delay as it smears enough to almost be a verb sound. But it lives between verb and echo so may be meh in most instances.
Adding a big predelay to reverb can give kind of a slapback echo+reverb type of effect too. I've done that before when I didn't have a delay to work with. You can almost make a reverb into a pseudo delay that way.
