Hello from Down Under!

Gday all!

Just received my powerhead, going to be a painful few hours until i can get home and power it up!

Far from a pro, played of and on for a long time (decades) but never really put the time in until this time around.

Just a home gamer, play for fun/experience/entertainment, been in amateur bands in the past and not really interested, may record a few tracks for the lolz.

This is my first non tube amp although i have dabbled in earlier tech such a line 6 stuff well over a decade ago but been so impressed with the sounds people get out of these ive come across on youtube (i blame mostly JHS) i just had to take the plunge!

A lot to learn but im very computer/tech savvy so not at all concerned.

I play both guitar (Tele my main squeeze) and bass, pretty well everything from country to metal!
I have an old 1 x 15 (70's JBL, and off-course studio monitor setup and decent cans) im going to hook up for a start but i think i may go down the FR-FR road in the future but im going to see how i like the guitar cab (im aware of the limitations) for starters, not competing with others in a band, only time volume an issue is jams at home with the bass through Kemper and guitar through a seperate amp so if the bass sounds decent and can keep up with the likes of a 5e3 i will probably keep this set-up, for now at least

Look forward to trying lots of profiles, may try my hand at making a few. Got access to a fair range of amplifiers and lots of vintage low powered alnico speakers.

Loving the Kemper, exceeded my expectations for sure, easily found my way around the unit as far as adding effects and such and got it hooked up to receive input from my pc, little bit of a hiccup getting unit to work with rig manager but support on chat was excellent and we got it working in a short time. Tonally (and volume, i scoff at a comment i read someplace claiming they aren't powerful enough, they must have been using some low efficiency speakers..) its excellent through the 1 x15 for guitar, unfortunately no good for bass but thats my speaker not the kemper, bass profiles sound great through the cans! I have another 1 x 15 i may re-speaker it with something more suitable or just go fr-fr. Will invest in a remote though, very much needed for switching effects and i want the looper! Haven't recorded anything yet but i have no doubt the results will be excellent, just been having too much fun jamming for now! I wasn't sure about getting the powered head, it was a good price and only $100 more than a unpowered and im glad i did as the results for me with my particular cab is excellent, i did do research and learn how to get the best results out of a cab and im sure that made a difference. I looked at the rig exchange and i know i have access to at least one particular locally made amp (Ledford, sadly owner/builder passed away last year) that deserves to be there so i better have a go at profiling it at some stage, i think a mate has a sm57.
