About me: Fifteen years at the guitar, with a focus on accurately covering favorite Classic Rock songs.
I'd like to share my logic in owning both a Kemper Profiler and tube amps.
I first use the Kemper for learning songs. Of course, the Kemper offers many profiles and bedroom volume play, which is very helpful for effective practice. I had initially fretted over available profiles vs fidelity to a specific song. However, when I thought about the lesser need for accuracy during song learning, the issue became much less important.
My tube amps & cabinets, especially given the Russian tube situation, are left to live performance (family and friends) situations.
As part of the performance preparation, I intend to profile the specific performance amp, the song's knob settings, and the specific guitar used for the song. In future, I can then maintain repertoire with that specific performance rig, at bedroom volumes, without firing up a big tube amp and attenuator at daily practice sessions
