Powered Milan Turbo speaker with Kemper

  • Thanks for the quick response man!… I usually go through a mixer and 2 of these speakers when I do my solo or 2 piece gigs …, you know…. Vocals, tracks and then Kemper to mixer, but was offered some work in full bands in Nashville…. and I don’t have a cab or guitar amp ……. Now I was wondering if it would work if I just go straight into the one powered PA speaker……

  • It will work. Will it sound good? That depends on how you configure the Kemper and the quality of the amp/PA speaker. Even with a well configured Kemper, the results are very dependent on the amp and speaker cabinet. In my experience, I would want some time with the full chain to get it configured well or to conclude that the speaker isn't going to provide a quality sound. Plugging a Kemper into an 'untested' PA speaker is a gamble that may or may not pay off and one I am not willing to take.

  • I send my Main outs to my home intercom system. My wife hates me when I do. BTW, you can also send the main outs into a pedal. A stereo pedal is more fun.

    Good luck!

This is a really good point because for a "full" PA as part of a band sound, this is no issue and what the Kemper is really designed for. But using 1 speaker just for the Kemper may or may not sound good, depending upon the quality of the POA speaker ad your profiles.

So the answer is, it can, but definitely test it. BTW this is the same for any solution, not unique to Kemper.
