Let’s focus on my original question:

Can I toggle the rigs with built in footswitches?

…and are they loaded on push and not on release of the footswitch?

    By toggle rigs I mean:

press footswitch 1 to use rig A

press footswitch 1 again to use rig B

press footswitch 1 again to use rig A

press footswitch 1 again to use rig B

    and so on.…”

I am looking for tips for settings that would make pinch harmonics sound great = loud, aggressive and sustaining.

Kinda like Zakk Wylde, EVH, Tremonti.

I know how to play them (I think). Could get them to ring on unplugged guitar and with some presets, but want to add them to others that I am using.

Is there a sweet spot on EQ that will make them ring?

Right spots are essential for picking and fretting/bending.

High gain - helps - what else?

I have the Airstep Multi and would like set it up with my Kemper Stage to select profiles.

    ie.

    Toggle Performance 1 Rig 1 / Performance 12 Rig 5 with button A

    Toggle Performance 6 Rig 3 / Performance 121 Rig 3 with button B

    or et least:

Select Performance 1 Rig 1 with button A

Select Performance 17 Rig 5 with button B

Select Performance 3 Rig 2 with button C

Basically one example, or maybe list of MIDI COMMANDS would help.

What is th best method of balancing the volumes of each preset within a rig?

    Ears?

    dB meter?

LEDs (or analog meters) on mixer?

Do you do it at practice volume (quiet) and/or at gig volume (loud)?

I think this is a misnomer. If I'm wrong, please tell me.

Just because something cuts through the Kab or monitor in your practice space or even in the same room as the gig does not mean the same will hold true for FOH. It's almost guaranteed not to.

Tuning the mix for the room is the job of the FOH engineer. Why would a guitar player even attempt to do that themselves?

There are sound engineers and there are “guys behind the mixer”.

The cabinet (IR) affects the tone hugely.

If I dial in the tone with Kabinet and it uses an imprint that does not sound like whats coming out of the Main Out…..that’s a problem.

I think that Full Range is the way to go.

It’s good to know otherwise I can spend hours getting that perfect tone (even at full volume) just to hear after the gig that my guitar did not cut the mix, or that it was sounding horrible.

Either testing FOH before gig or forget i prints and go Full Range only.

In real life the latter is more practical/safe.

    Thanks for the info everyone.

... The imported cabinet is still heard at the Main Outputs….

That’s something to keep in mind because FOH will be receivng different tone than my stage monitor.

Are there imprints that are exact replica of those “built into” the Kabinet?

I would like to apply those so they could be used in Main Out to have the same sound in FOH.

    Kemper Stage -> Powered Kabinet.

I am a bit confused about when is Kemper using Kabinet vs using IRs…….or both?

    SCENARIO:

    Imported a rig from Exchange.

    Using Rig Manager.

When I click on the Cabinet (in the stack beside amp) it shows Use Global Imprint.

    1. I guess it is using global imprint only, disabling the imported cabinet? Correct me if I am wrong.

I can click on it (Use Global Imprint button) and select other imprint on pop up list, Global Imprint, or Full Range Mode.

    2. If I select Full Range Mode is it using the imported cabinet instead of Kabinet imprints?

    3. How is that affected by Monitor Cab Off? (in OutputPage1)

I got me the SparkGo today and one of the presets there sounds so good that I have decided to import it into my Stage.

This will be my first attempt at profiling.

I would prefer cable connection to microphone.

Is it safe to connect Spark’s “headphone out” to RETURN1 on Stage?

How loud should Spark be set (volume level)?

Do I need to use DI Box?

The preset I am after is one for Can’t Stop Loving You by VH. The acoustic part.

I found a solution to my problem: high quality USB cable.

Got one in my spare computer parts box. No branding on it, don’t remember where I got it.

It seems that 9.0 requires more or faster data transfer.

    Same problem.

Windows 11 latest version. Tried to restart and with different cables plugged in directly into all available USB 2 and 3 spots.

Device manager shows "Unknown USB device (Device Descriptor Request Failed).

I have just received my Jazzmaster.

There is no info on how to connect it to an amp in the manual.

Likely just like any other guitar.

Some videos suggest using DI box and FRFR.

How about Kemper? DI box or not?

    Any recommended presets?

    Am I overthinking it?

I suggest using Performance Mode, and changing from one Performance Slot (Rig) to another, with a single press of a switch.

That could be done with two switches above 1 & 2. The /\Up and \/Down, or can I assign a single switch to toggle between two Performances?

TAP could be assigned to do either Up or Down.

I need one switch to toggle. Maybe in future update…..
