take the kaos.bin out of the folder and place it on the root directory of the stick (aka outside any folders) and start the Profiler with the stick inserted and while pressing down both PAGE buttons.

You need to put the kaos.bin onto a fat32 usb stick then follow the 'install / reinstall firmware on the link above
Switch kemper off
Plug the USB stick into the KPA
Press and hold both '<' and '>' keys
while still holding both keys - switch KPA to tuner
Something like 'booting and installing' will be displayed
Wait until the firmware is reinstalled

reformat the stick or use a different one and download a fresh copy of the update. Make sure to unmount the stick from your desktop before ejecting it.

yes i am. but if i don't i get the same message. And i'm switching the kemper via plugging in the mains cable as on/off switch doesnt work

Scroll down all the way to find 8.7.20 which runs on all Profilers.
Had the exact same issue with my Profiler floor. Installing 8.7.2 worked for me as well. This was caused by trying to load beta 10 for liquid profiling. Guess I am going to wait until official release.
