Just found a profile I made years ago..I wish I didn't flip that amp so fast lol! But at least Kemper has a snapshot of it, now on the Exchange

I think that is essentially what a Tube screamer does- magnifies the mids before the amp. Dial in a profile with lots of mids, then after the preamp give it a midcut. For me, I like -3 at 400 because it reminds me of Diezel meanness, but 500 and 750 are more popular frequencies.
Using an eq in front to boost mids I could never get right, always preferred an OD set as a clean boost, but play around and see what you can come up with

Hey
I have the Blackhole as a plugin and want to bring this in for a live jam. I am sure the Kemper can do this...anybody have a good tip on how to best emulate this?
-
I think the user experience is vastly improved with the Kab. Agreed though, profiles are a bit different, some favs are not as cool and other 'average' ones inexplicably shine with the Kab. I'll likely get a 2nd to build a stereo rig!

Gilmore's actual amp is here:
https://www.theampfactory.com/…att-100-1970-10-profiles/I'm not an AF fanboi either, this is one of the few profiles I have bought from anyone. It is amazing and worked for me in the studio and live.
I used it on this solo here at 3:51 fwiw:

To me, switching cabs on studio profiles tend to bring along more than the cab itself- it carries a lot of the amps characteristics. Regardless, a cool experiment!

Well done!
Was this a studio profile or merged/di?
-
I would totally be into a Bass Kone Kab

putting the number before the name is really going to screw up your alphabetized list
I put lower case Roman numerals after the name.; ie
Revv m 23ii
Revv: my Revv amp
m: merged profile (could also be s or di)
23: channel 2, 3rd profile variation
ii: copy of the profile but with tweaked settings
I wish everybody used the m di s approach

Best of both worlds: two Kones in a 2x12 cab. Sounds absolutely MASSSSSIVE.
This looks awesome!
Talk about that pedal integration you have goin on

The link's still not showing in your post, Ray.
updated the OP
I think the KAB has really delivered the goods- enjoying profiles on a whole new level these days....the TAPP merged is my current #1!
-
ok we have all 3 on my google link now. I know there was another one back then....REALLY digging on this amp today!
-
I found 2 TAPP profiles- both were public and free so I'll share here:
1 is from 2013 with a Tapp cab
1 is DI from 2018
I can't find the Iratus profile?! I had it before....Anybody have that one?
I'm jammin them now with a KoneKab and they are really amazing
Tight Tight Tight

How is this working out for people? I have a powered toaster, but still enjoy my tube amps. I'm thinking this could be a good addition for standalone/flyrig as well, but if it slays in 4cm I would love that. I guess I am mainly asking about noise floor as that is the one thing that made my fx8ii stand above other units I tried. The fx8 was a bit too large/cumbersome though so looking for something else here
-
Ive thought about buying a Kemper Stage for a similar idea.
Profile my favorite distortion pedals and use it like a 4cm with my toaster and or my tube amps. Cherrs!
Yes, I should just do that!
-
ok, so a lot of people ask about a stripped down Kemper with no profiling ability or just amps or whatever and that is not possible- the bulk of the unit is still there and the numbers do not bring it down enough to warrant this.
But what about the opposite? A Kemper fx only unit, preferably with 4cm ability to work with my tube amps. I love my Kemper and use it 99% of the time, but I still enjoy my tube amps and find myself shopping for such a device. I figured out how to do this with my toaster, but having the fx only in a Kemper footcontroller format would be fun.!
Totally overkill, but it could somehow work to link in with the current Kemper to give extra fx for those who really need 4+ delays/reverbs stacked on top of each other lol.

Professionals" use all kinds of sounds and using a Kemper/modeller doesn't make us special snowflakes.

I was always a special snowflake; now with Kemper I have entered Professional Special Snowflake status.

Is this mismatched? I know it could work and to be careful not crank it and blow things up, but I just realized the mismatch here.
I dig the cab, but did they really design the Kab for people who have a stage or non powered Kemper and external power amp? Am I going to have a problem?
