I have a feeling it copied Kemper's way of capturing tone.

When you own a KPA and after countless times of playing you will come into conclusion that "Hey this gear really stands up!". After that anything new that will come will just be second fiddle. You are not that excited anymore because KPA filled the void. So when you read that a new gear is better then you will just say to yourself " Well let's see." Then you follow about that new gear by force of habit or just keeping abreast of new technology, but you are not that excited anymore.
I'm already at that stage.

Now I'm inspired to practice...

I'm still using my trusty QSC K12 after learning to use the output EQ of KPA. I was tempted to sell this early on to buy Atomic CLR or Yamaha DRX since it was the talk of the town then and I think until now.

If true this will be a death sentence to the toaster and the rack.

IS IT JUST ME OR DOES THE KEMPER SOUND BETTER AFTER ITS BEEN ON A LONG TIME AND GETS GOOD AND WARM ?
I think its psychology, KPA sounded better after playing it for along time and your doubts about its capability slowly melted away. Then you start to believe that KPA really delivers. It happened to me.

I even put a vanishing tape on top of the film few days after getting my KPA from the store and that was two years ago

An alternative is MBritt's Profile Pack2

and bring in lots of food

+1 on this! I have a lot of stomps still lying around not getting the same TLC before KPA. It's time to use then again since I already have the profiles I need.

If you don't buy one you'll keep dreaming of owning one. You'll keep proving yourself you don't need one.

My toaster is still sturdy since day one and will turn two years by the end of February.

Around US$400, it should be priced such that KPA owners will not be discouraged to use it.

Whatever you say positive or otherwise I'm still going to buy the KFC. I've waited long enough for this to come

This is very sweet to my ears. Can you share the profile with me? Many thanks Happy NEW YEAR TO ALL:)

When I was scouting for a monitor almost two years back I tried the Alto TS112A and then QSC K12 with the KPA at a music store nearby. Without any adjustments on the KPA it was very obvious that K12 won. However due to the price difference I went for the Alto thinking then that maybe I just need to EQ the KPA and it will sound similar. After a week of tweaking I couldn't get the sound of K12 so I went back to the store and swapped the Alto to K12. The K12 had the harshness on its own that I also didn't like at first but later I learned to tame it using the global EQ of the KPA. I could have gone to cheaper but nice sounding monitors that were mentioned here however I have very limited option in my place.

Started with Zoom GFX4 then Boss GT6 then Boss GT10 then went to tube amps because of what we called as digital fizz ( I didn't know then that it was called as such). Then TC Nova System together with analog pedals into a tube amp. Then nearly got a second hand Axe Ultra but backed out at the last minute since I realized I need to tweak a lot based on reviews and I'm not really good at tweaking
Then I read the KPA in its infancy. From the definition I said myself I'm gonna buy a KPA one day for the sole reason that it can reproduce the sweet spots of an amp. This was my Eureka moment, this was exactly what I need! I followed KPA on the internet for a year or so and then on Feb 2013 I got one. All smile after that
I still have the Nova system though since I cannot decide to let it go due to its very good modulation effects.

Yeah , I missed the look and the tube cooking but it's now becoming a tiresome job because Kemper spoiled me on that matter. What can I do since the commercial profiles I have are spot on. Mostly no tweaking needed. Now with Mbritt's Dumble profiles that I'm enjoying makes it more distant to use real guitar amp.
Sorry but out of topic, few weeks ago a friend I know was once selling his Ceriatone Dumble copy and when I inquired about it he said he is not selling the amp anymore. Frustrated as I was ( some of you can relate to this) I searched for a Dumble profiles and found them on MBritt's pack2 and downloaded them. Long story short lucky me that I did not buy the amp hahahahah No regret whatsoever
