I can't help buying any profiles Bert offers, even a high gain Marshall... They are all so good! Looking forward to testing the Friedman now. Too late today.

A very low tail piece does not help, and the poles of the bridge often twist or bend a tad toward the headstock. I don't fancy the wrap over the tail method, but keeping the tail a bit too low makes the tensión higher not only for your fretting hand.

Michael's packs (and Bert's) are always way too tempting... Never say never again!

Had not heard that Don. What kind of problems? I like the rosewood looking nice.
In the long run, frets may come loose or not stable if the wood next to them absorbs too much humidity. Or at least refretting may become difficult. It never happened to me but I oil the fretboards just a little only once a year or so.

Peerless M Taylor Virtuoso. My first archtop. I was looking for an affordable lefty, which ain't easy. Small (15') and comfy . Low action. I strung It with flats. Good South Corean construction and a sale price that made me drop the bullets (in France this time). Spruce and maple. Not very loud unplugged, but there's a bit of an acoustic tone to mic and blend in with the Kemper.

I am not that much into high gain shredding, but yesterday I tried a profile from the red Channel with an SG and could not help trying to shred a little... Yeah, the guitar was doing better than the player, but it was fun. A great pack from my favorite Dutchman, as expected.

HS7 here. Pretty well balanced for the price. I also use the cab of an Engl combo through a TC power amp now and then. In that case I use the monitor out of course, and the stereo outs or spdif out into a mixer or the Focusrite, and the Focusrite into the Yamahas. I have been waiting for the powered Kabinet for a while and will be getting it soon. I have used the Kemper outs into FOH and it is great, but the amp in the room feeling is missing unless you also feed a cab. The Kabinet with its imprints is better than an average cab, since the cab may sound very different from what comes out of the P A. If you play just at home choose a good pair of monitors which you may use to play mixes or CDs through. The powered Kabinet is mono so you would miss that. Still, bear in mind that the Kemper headphone outs are excellent and monitors will sound different, so you may have to get used to them a little.

It sounds good. Tempting....

Yeah, Ibot, agreed! The height of the stoptail, the quality of the saddles, the nut, the frets, the neck joint... Plus the wood. Then the pups can enhance the sound or spoil it a little, but they are easier to change than the wood...?

I agree with you, guys. If it resonantes unplugged then it will most probably sound great when plugged in. Wood matters! Being lefthanded I don't have the chance to try out many lefties unless I am visiting a large town, and often not even there, but when I do I like to try them unplugged first, unless there's too much noise around me. Obviously a Gretsch will resonate more than a Strat, but the point is sustain has a lot to do with the wood and the construction.

If guitars lead to chicks, then more guitars leads to more chicks, right?
Sounds like a perfectly reasonable strategy on her part.
Those were the days... Now, it may be my age, my being a guitar player, not a pop singer, or my less than awesome chops...I wonder. Not that I still look for chicks, mind you. Thank God I've grown out of teenage desires. Ok That may be it! Wishful thinking, ha ha.

Thanks a lot, Tim.

I used to own a lefty CBS Strat from 79. Maple neck and sunburst, and rather heavy too. I never bonded with it, really. And the neck was too small and unstable. If you find one you do like and want to keep and PLAY, then upgrade it as you think fit, otherwise do not touch much and think of it as investment. A right handed friend of mine wanted to but it from me to play it Hendrix-style! I sold it later, or rather exchanged it, to get another Strat, so you never know.
