I ended up buying a few of these to cut down on cabling and they are great a piece of kit. My kemper’s housed in a rack and I have no problem communicating with my Kemper from the iPad on my mic stand. As I use a performance per song method I saves a lot of searching/tapping on the remote and I can even give the iPad to the drummer so it’s totally seemless. A bit of a faff to connect them but in you soon get used to that and it’s well worth overcoming!

Got the Cali76 through today and believe me, that needs to be in the chain!
-
There's a 1986-7 BK Butler Tube Driver in the chain too so believe me, I'm hoping the profile matches the tone that's coming out already without the compressor!
-
I'm looking at something fairly transparent and obviously I know I can add compression after the fact but I'd rather get the tone I want in the profile. Ordered a Cali76 as I'd got rid of most of my pedals when I got the Kemper so once it arrives, I'll give it a bash and let you know how I get on!
-
Not sure if it would even work but has anyone done a profile with a compressor in the signal path?

Mix on all distortions! Awesome!

Nice one! Cheers for the video too!
Certainly worth playing around with at that price point! -
Just to clarify, we are talking a tiny amount of power here, not 9-12V. It all depends if all pins are wired or just the 3 for midi data and then if any power passes through them.
-
Exactly that one. I was contemplating either using setlist manager on the iPad or firing PC's from my Mac out of Ableton.
-
Looking at getting one of the new Bluetooth midi dongles but they require a small amount of power from the midi out. Any idea if they'd work on the Kemper like they would on say a keyboard?

That will be optimal for me too!! i would like to have 2 of the same profile, one for rythm and one for solo.. now i have two paralell buttons, and could have had the same sounds i have now with half the amount of preformances. I am used to play with volumeboost, make sure I always be heard on my solos!
+1
if it's the same profile you'll be able to do this with the morph feature potentially.

No, that's just the standard line level input for professional music instruments. Set your output to whatever whatever suits you but doesn't clip. Most people from memory on here go for between -20 and -16.

See bottom right....

I've been concerned about the connector on the back of the KPA . I wish there was a way to retrofit an ethercon connector
I've got my in a rack so I've got an Ethercon feedthrough (and XLR's for the Main Outs) on a spare bit of Rack Panel. I then just got a retrofit Ethercon boot for the other end of the Remote cable.
Obviously no help if you've got a Toaster.

Were sales of valve amps dropping through the floor then I might shed a tear but let's face it, they're not! I have 3 valve amps and a Kemper. It's a tool and it just happens to be perfect for my application, precise, sonic versatility across many genres. A cover players holy grail!
-
But the main thing is they're coming, and they're free!!!
-
I know sorry. We were discussing it elsewhere then the thread shifted. It doesn't take much to confuse me!

I was for many years a "Guitar George" and never bothered with scales but seriously knew my chords and how they should be arranged. Coming to lead later I found myself doing some stuff that sounded good, fingers crossed due to me putting my theory homework in)
Exploring Modes later on made me understand why it sounded half decent and what else would too without having to resort to trial and error when getting outside the safety zone!I'd never profess to being a technical guitarist but sometimes (for me anyway), it's reassuring to know that what you're doing is sometimes the same as people who have gone the technical route. We can all get to the same destination, just from a different direction on the crossroads and all are equally valid.
To be fair, I've sat down and practiced (as opposed to just gigging) for the first time in god knows how long after this throws popped up, so its all good!

Stick the two together though and you have something. A great way of getting a clean tone is simply by using your guitar volume to back off the input into an overdriven amp. Makes sense that people feel more at home with reducing the gain on a more saturated tone as that's how many of us actually had to do it PK (pre-Kemper )

Morph to Wah feature anyone?
