Probably nothing more, even if you get all TH profiles for free?
Stay Metal!
I do actually, but then again I wouldn't endorse anything I don't 100% love... you know, integrity and all that.

After a quick few minutes of listening to some of your work I can say I'm excited to try some of your heavier packs once they're released! Sounds fantastic so far!
Can't tell the difference - very much digging the tone though! Nice and thick. But then again what else can I expect from a TH profile?
That sounds fantastic! ToneHammer is doing such a great job. Their profiles really cover the entire range of what I usually need
Great to see some new people found this thread! I always forget to mention the Origin Audio Bogner Pack I recorded a sample track for a while ago. Extremely tight and incredibly crushing stuff. Quad-tracking with the Uberschall from Origin and the 6505 from ToneHammer basically sounds like an oversized fist hitting your face over and over again. Love it
Display MoreHey guys,
after playing with the factory content a long time, I finally want to spend some money.
I noticed that I really like the free Tonehammer-profiles when playing alone, they sound so great. In rehearsal situations and when playing to a song via Aux, they just don't cut very well though.
In metal situations, I mainly play a sevenstring tuned down to A (Ibanez RG1077 XL), so I might have to use the EQ options in the KPA more carefully. Keith Merrow-profiles seem to sit better in the mix, at least for my specific setup.
This leads to two questions:
1. Can you recommend some profiles which are designed to sound good in a band situation without a lot of tweaking, with downtuned guitars and the need for precise sounding death metal riffing?
2. Do you know of any KPA-tutorial which helps me utilising the different EQs to tweak profiles to my needs? I have been avoiding this topic all my guitar playing life and haven't even set a LoCut so far.
I hope all of this made sense and I appreciate any help.
Alright:
1. ToneHammer, Stymphalian, Double Impact Ultimate Profile Bundle (Mendel from Aborted co-worked on it), SinMix - just look for the amps you enjoy and listen to some samples and you'll get some seriously great profiles
2. Don't really know about any tutorials BUT when EQing I'm always on the side of doing as little as possible. My advice would be to use the graphical EQ in the X-slot and then do a high and low cut and then play around with the mids - once you like how the guitar tone comes out try to play with your band and take out the high and low cut filters but leave the mid-tweaking in, then adjust the high and low cuts until the guitar cuts through perfectly in your live situation.
Just have been playing the 5153 profiles again and my god I have forgotten how good they sounded!
I asked on the page for clarification as to who had actually put together the pack, and it is something that was sorted by some of the commercial sellers on the KPA User Group.
Maybe one of them will comment here to clarify on sharing rules or something, I wouldn't want to just post it here without permission!
I'm actually the one responsible for putting together the pack. Since it's a community pack it's obviously available to anyone - that's why the download-link was posted there in the pinned post. Obviously some don't have facebook so here you go: https://www.dropbox.com/s/equa…ty%20Pack%20%231.rar?dl=0
Haven't been posting much lately, just lurking in the shadows.
But when it comes to "this is offensive" crap I just gotta jump on the pain-train!

Haven't actually missed that pack.... because that's me playing in the video
If I had some expendable money I'd definitly grab this one. Sounds fantastic and seems versatile enough to be worth the price! Would love to see you sell more pofiles in general!
Hannes thanks for posting Ultimate Profile Bundle - Double Impact Productions/Mendel (Aborted)
did not know about these guys, will pick it up and give it a go...
if it matters, what i posted above is great for passive pick ups..i got a new loomis 7 string now with the EMG's i know
the Stymphalian is meant for that . Sinn's and Dealight's stuff is great for passive (encase thats an issue)
Ash
I think most metal profiles work great with EMGs or Blackouts simply because these are made to be aggressive. But good to hear that a lot of these work for passives aswell!

Incredible Pack. Must buy for death metal players.
Nice, thanks for sharing these man!

Glad you dig the stuff! There are so many fantastic profiles for death metal it's insane!
Alright, thats good to hear. Thanks a lot!
and this one:
So I got my Kemper Rack-version yesterday for live shows and a fitting rack - however the kemper doesn't sit on the racks floor when screwed in but rather hangs about 2cm above the racks floor in the air - should I be concerned that something happens when it's just hanging in the air or does it hold up well?
Yeah, some unboosted stuff thats in the medium gain area and then some boosted stuff which is high gainy deliciousness and some nice clean stuff
for such a small thing it sounds like a beast!
