Looking to build a live bass rig for Kemper unpowered version. I’ve been rehearsing at relatively low levels with band using one alto 112. Sounds acceptable however I’m certain it will get awful once I pushed gigging volume. Will a camplifier power amp work for a bass cab. Enough power?
Camplifier for unpowered head for live bass rig?

I am currently using a 1HE Synq 1k0 with the Kemper. (2x 550Wrms @4ohm or 300Wrms @8ohm, 1080W bridged @8ohm)
Small and easy setup for gigs with provided bass cabinet. Works greatFor gigs with my own reinforcement I plan to buy two JBL EON 615 or db Technology Opera 15, I am still uncertain.
I recommend 15" speakers if you want to buy an active speaker. It makes a big difference if there is an Alto TS112 or TS215. Much deeper and better sound with bassguitar. -
Just use a REAL bass cab from any brand: ampeg, mesa, hartke, whatever and you'll be good for bass... Trust me.

When you use the kemper for bass, and you want to use cab profiles, take a bass cab with NO characteristics... just started using http://www.acousticalignment.nl bass cabs for that reason. Selling my MarkBass tower...

For the same price as the top of the line Camplifier, you can probably find a used GK MB800 which has the exact same amp inside as the Kemper Powerhead/rack. But, it has an internal fan which allows it to run safely to 4ohms @ 800w. Plug into the effects return to bypass the preamp.

Might not have enough power with the camplifire

What about an affordable class d amp —> Carvin bx500? Craigslist has a cheap one in town.

See if you can try it! Should work well.

I think the camplifier is nice if you have two cabs and want to output about 360-watts through each cab. That should be loud enough for most gigs. Even a single cab should work in smaller, more controlled situations. This model:

The Camplifier won't work on 4 Ohm cabs, keep that in mind

2x180watt would be too weak for me personally, bass produce high peaks and that needs power. Also not 4ohm capable.
That wouldn't be for me... -

That wouldn't be for me...I saw the specs. It says you can run at 2x360 watts. Unless that's an error on the website.

Ah, they don't say that for the other models. 360 watts is not enough to use for a bass amp. -
I suggest to get a proper poweramp oder a powered kemper head if you want to play live with a bass cab.
I'm using my powered kemper head with a fender rumble cab and it sounds great.
