Same issue occurring to my KPA Powerhead, I was worrying about battery replacement since the unit is from 2016 but looking at how many cases occurred over the last days worlwide, I will wait for an official statement from Kemper as it might be related to a sw bug instead of a massive hardware failure...

    Most likely a failing cable

I will defintely check all the cables (gt / S/PDIF in-out / firewire) but the weird fact is that the issue happens only when delay is on.
No issue at all when playing the same rig w/o delay.

In case I replicate the issue again, I will also inform support team.

Besides the fact that I am more than happy about the new gorgeous delays, I am experiencing an issue with S/PDIF outs of the KPA.

in my home studio I tend to play with KPA connected via S/PDIF to a Focusrite Saffire PRO 26 firewire interface, it happened three times in a row right now that Focusrite main outs got completely muted and dimmed as I started to tweak delays parameters a little bit.

I tried to sync the two devices and got the message "the digital sync source is not valid".

Did anyone experience the same issue?

I'm on Beta 5 since the day after it was released and did experience a couple of issues so far:

1- Reverse delay on Warm Verb 2 preset creates sometimes some artifacts/ digital glitch / noise
2- Few moments ago, I was able to switch between delay presets but NO output from delay slot at all. This occurred on any preset in that moment. I had to turn off the KPA and restart the unit to be able to hear delays again.

Enlightened users like Monkey Man gave tremendous contribution to this community and someway helped newbies like me to go for the beloved KPA.
It is sad to see many experienced people discouraged to post on the forum due to questionable matters.

In my opinion, we should focus on contents instead of avatars, an avatar free forum would be good enough for me but, please, keep the good contribution going!

I had the chance to test an ALTO TS210 for a while yesterday evening and I really was impressed.
I tested the speaker with two Britt profiles (Colonial 1.6 for cleans and 72 Mars 50 3 for crunch/ OD sounds).

Speaker setup: volume at "noon" (mid value) / countour set off.
KPA: main output at -16dB, main volume 3,4 dB, EQ flat

It sounded soo good, still had room for more volume despite the fact that with that setup I was playing even louder than I am used to when I gig.

Despite the 10" speaker, rigs were rich in terms of bass frequencies so I applied a -2dB cut on them and the overall sound improved.

By the way, I asked the owner of the speaker to use my KPA during rehearsals with his band (which play stoner rock) and I attended the whole session.
It was awesome being able to clearly hear the KPA rigs cut through the whole mix (with the other guitarist playing Marshall + 4x12 cabinet)

I do not know if the Alto TS210 is able to keep the same linear behavior as Yamaha DXR 10, which seems to be the world wide standard so far, but I found it to be a valid alternative.
I will possibly get one in the near future.

The King of Jangle is Roger McGuinn of the Byrds. Here's a link to an interview he gave about his recording techniques.

    http://songheads.com/?p=108

    Short version:
Amps: Roland JC120, Vox AC30 and direct to the console.
Lots of compression (comps in series)
    Treble boost

I love Roger McGuinn and the Byrds!
Thank you for the contribution, I think I will have to work a little bit on serial compression in order to achieve the Janglebox compressor.

    Hello,
If I remember well, you should be able to find good profiles for those vintage amps in commercial rigs such as Michael Britt's vintage pack and Pete's Profile vintage pack too.
They have nice Selmer, Valco, Supro amps and they all sound very good, if you like vintage tones!

I do not know if there are similar rigs in RE though.

Screen on mine is slightly loose too, never had the blob issue though.
It seems some users have their KPA screens tight while some others have them slightly loose.
In any case, this feature was not addressed to failures until now.

It would be good if any moderator from Kemper could share information about this topic, maybe it is a construction feature but it is not affecting the unit performance.

    All users have 4.02 installed.
It turned out to be the theory that Paults stated... It seems that the user with 297 presets kept storing them as he modified parameters (without knowing that he would get more and more stomps presets shown in the Kemper list...)

The mistery seems to be "the great rock'n'roll swindle", to keep it musical!

    Mystery solved?

    Not really...
I got your statement about Delays and the addition after 4.02, in facts I find, as an example, the delay "DLY - Tap The Edge 01" on both delay preset and stomp (it's shown twice in KPA).
The point is that some users found additional presets, like DLY - EDGE 2+3/16 and many others but, supposedly, they did not modified nor uploaded any new setting into the KPA.

I will investigate the matter with the users.
It is not a problem, of course, it is just me being curious

    Hello everybody!
I want to submit a new mistery that has to be solved!

I posted a thread on the Italian KPA Users FB page and, after some discussion, we discovered that someone has up to 297 presets (with a lot of new delays and reverbs)..

I checked my KPA and found out that, like many others users, I only have 160 presets installed.
The unit is on Beta 4.02 and factory content 4.0 is installed too.

So, the question is, how many presets are installed on yours?
