I like the write-up on the '78. I need to hear some comparisons with the current models first.

We will see many videos on YT eventually. I'm looking forward to it. I hope I will like the 78 or high voltage enough to buy and install one of them on one guitar.

I still have to swap out the HB on my Super Squire strat. I'm even thinking about trying an Epi Probucker III in it but the '78 sounds promising. I have yet to try any DiMarzios or Fishmans in any of my others guitars. I'm pretty satisfied how those SDs sound in them.

Gee, I wonder what the High Voltage set is meant to emulate. They look right at home in the SG they showcase…..

Maybe close to the jb pickup? Anyhow it will soon be revealed.

My guess is that it will be closer to the Custom Custom. That is the model they told me is the closest to the "Seymourized" zebra t-top pickup I ran across that Mr. Duncan had rewired four decades ago.

I suspect so. They are low-medium output pickups (~9k). I think the 78 is a remake of the older SD 78 that is a good match for brown sound and the EVH VH1 humbucker, and could be better than the EVH/Wolfgang HB. That's what I read. ??
