A little more metal prog number. Having some more fun with the archtop and the profiles waraba gave me (for the cleaner and lead parts).

  • Archtop metal

These archtops definitely have a distinctive attack & bite that I really love , and lots of sustain & feedback . They rarely have the perfect pickups for metal though, but for hard rock , wow, especially on P90 .

that's my main axe type for my stoner tracks with transpose set to C , fuzz pedal front , and natural double tracking . I love playing them on neck pickup vs bridge on distorted tones , for ultimate crunch.

  • Everyone knows to play real metal and doom you need the hello kitty guitar.

    Thanks deadman42 and waraba !

To me the arch top is very versatile at low volume but because of the natural feedback not ideal for heavy tones live, I do love how they feel and look though. I’m not sure how Seltzer and Grohl keel theirs in check on stage at those stadium gigs, though I’m guessing the Trini is a block through body neck like the 335, closer to Les’ plank with its wings glued on.

Versatile ,for sure , mine will suit 90% of my needs alone , thx to the p90. My luthier had them waxed and they do not buzz , feedback yes , but very controllable. Izzy Stradlin used them on stage with great success.

Some folks used foam inside also.
