I so much prefer amp distortion over pedal distortion in the Kemper. Real pedals is a different story, but I don't really like the modeled distortion pedals in the Kemper.
Am I the only one who feels this way?

No.
But amp distortion with Liquid Profiles is great!
I really like the Kemper Drive and Kemper Fuzz effects and use them on a bunch of songs. There does seem to be "something" more present and in your face when I run my dirt pedals in front of the Kemper, so I have one on my small pedalboard.
The Drive and Fuzz are *very* capable.
With that said, there is something a real King of Tone instills that you can’t quite dial in with the Kemper Drive. It’s so close, no one will notice…..but I still run a KOT and Tumnus Deluxe in the loop.

Yeah. I plan to do that too. A vemuram Jan Ray and a Vemuram Butter Machine in the loop. Are the loops transparent enough for drive pedals?
And I will run a real good fuzz and a Roger Mayer univibe in front.
You should know, that the loop adds a huuuge amount of latency - more than 7ms on top of the basic latency of the unit (without the latency of any pedals, just the loop itself).

Ok no drive pedals in the loop for me then....
I run mine into the front and it seems to work about the same as having it in front of a traditional amp.
I use mostly the Kemper Drive, but I have a couple of lead sounds (not metal) that use a Bogner Ubershall pedal with the neck pickup.

Use your ears. I’ve used Loop Distortion for years now. I experience none of what’s suggested- and frequently turn it on and off while playing. First I’ve heard of it.
