I like little riffs that rise and fall. Nice job Joe! But you could make a platinum record at my new studio (shameful plug). Check out the update..

You went down the rabbit hole on that intro. I actually heard some of Mick Jagger's screaming jabberwocky in that intro.

Take a break and check out my studio updates..

I added the Tremolo effect with Rate all the way down and Stereo all the way up after the Rotary effect, and I am getting the nice "wash" effect left to right the same as from my old sample track, BUT the panning is still too fast. Using a 1/4 ping-pong delay seems to help get the stereo wider to simulate a more slow panning effect. BUT again, it's still too fast from what I had before.

I hate to say it because I know it's been requested before but a speed control on the Rotary and Tremolo effect would make life easier.

I don't know what else to try. The tone is there! just not the right panning speed.

are you sure it was the Rotary?
AFAIK the speeds were never adjusted.
Maybe the original used a Tremolo as a Panner effect?

I will have to look into that and report back. I only have the recording with no documentation except "tone from Kemper" . In the meantime, I downloaded the Spiner LE Simluator plugin and that got me real close, but I would prefer to use what I did on the Kemper before because the "wash" was so beautiful on that recording.

I was listening to an old riff I did with the Rotary effect but I can't match it up to that sound anymore. I had a nice slow wash from left to right speakers but now the Rotary sounds way too fast in SLOW mode. Did the new updates change this?

I have left and right stereo outs with the Rotary Distance at 4.0cm, Stereo anywhere from 90* to 180*, and Mix at 100%. The rotary is way too fast in SLOW mode. I need it about half that speed or less.

just my personal opinion & experience:
Curtains often only have the effect of filtering a bit of high end and possibly one narrow band, so instead of somewhat clean reflections, you get muffled ones - not really an improvement

Choosing an EQ to adress issues in the time domain is kind of a band aid anyway, but after all the work you put into the absorbers it almost seems like an afterthought.

Bass traps will be a great improvement I'm sure.

The curtains have to be up because they are covering a long window on the left and a doorway on the right.

I'm thinking about 12 inch x 7 foot corner traps on stands, and I might need 2 more panels above me for the ceiling.

Update: Acoustic panels are finally up! Verb and echo is almost Zero! The music is directed right at me now. It was a labor of love and PIA. I was hoping the centered color accents would complement the curtians and rugs instead of just a plain row of black. I will be using Sonarworks to calibrate everything. I still have much more decorating to do on the sides and back walls but that is coming for Xmas. I will also look into left and right bass traps.

    Almost Open House time!

    High energy punk on Vampires.

Nice catchy riffing on Please Stay. Your voice fits this well.

I hear a bit of Police in You Want Me.

Overall, I am hearing nice improvement on your vocals. Maybe New Wave Punk is your shtick.

Some people don't "need" the money and want to pass on a good thing to someone who otherwise couldn't afford it.

    just a thought...

I agree. I don't need money. Just a lucrative contract with Sony, EMI, or Universal Music. I'd even take a contract with Sweetwater so I can get my gear at 15% off.
