Sweetwater returns are Zero costs. You just drop off at a nearby UPS with prepaid label they email to you. Same as driving to return to a local store. GC does not offer a free replacement warranty for 2 years. And the staff don't have a clue about the products they sell. I use GC to pick up strings if I need them the same day but they push EB's and I like GHS which they have not been carrying lately.
You do you.

My GC is fine. Like Sweetwater, I go there to buy things I already know I want. The advantage I see to the local GC is returning stuff at zero cost and less hassle when doing so.
Sweetwater has been annoying me by emailing me a few days after I visit their website saying "Did you find what were looking for?"
It's not creepy....it's pushy.
Did I find what I was looking for? Uhm....did I buy something?? No....so, what's the question again?

GC has carried Kemper for years.
No one knows for sure except Kemper about where the Player will be made available. I would expect it to come to retailers, but only Kemper can answer.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if they don't release a similar format pedal with the whole range of distortions and fuzz.
If...and it's a big if.....they follow any sort of trend with units like this, the HX Stomp spawned Stomp XL and the FM3 was joined by the FM9.
Who knows. Pretty cool release none the less.

The absence of the Kemper Drive and Fuzz adds to the idea that this is aimed at players with existing pedal boards. Right in line with things like the Iridium, Boss IR-2, ToneX etc.
It also makes it easier to understand just the two pre-stack effects slots.

Si vous faites référence au changement des boutons d’effet un à quatre, c’est normal.
Vous attribuez ces boutons par plate-forme.
J'espère que cela aide.

But the original Kemper footswitch does not work, right?
That is very strange.. They just could have added that LAN-port somewhere...
The Remote is $400+ by itself...and you'd end up with a more complicated and limited version of a Stage for similar money.
To me a better option is a MIDI footswitch, which are dirt cheap in comparison.

If this had the same number of slots as its bigger brothers then, other than their Profiling capability, there would be almost no point in buying anything other than this unit. The loss of morphing and the Natural Reverb wouldn't phase me enough to care. Especially at basically half the cost.
Did they limit the unit on purpose? I'm sure they did.
Like a spare tire in case of a flat - backup solutions usually aren't as capable as the primary. If they were....again....why get the bigger unit to begin with?
The reality is this unit is primarily aimed at a different group of players. Some existing owners may want it and that's great. That's clearly not the real target, though.

I’m in, too.

People that don't already own a Profiler.
Probably thinking of people interested in the Tonex, Iridium, BluGuitar, Boss IR-2, Amplifier Box, etc. and every other player looking for a pedal sized amp to fit into their existing pedal board.
-
I'm not sure what you're referring to with the reference to Lukather. Rosanna doesn't have a full-on Kirk Hammett sound in it.
That said - have you tried one of the Kemper Drive's Horizon settings? One of that pedal's main uses is to tighten up higher gain amps.
-
If this played rigs exactly as they exist on the bigger units, then I'd say this is for existing users. A product meant for that wouldn't make sense, would it? Why limit your potential customers to the few Kemper users (relative to the entire market) who've already ponied up? Unless you want to Profile - why buy the bigger units at all?
I see this as appealing to a new group of players where the larger units don't make sense. -
I m not sure about this. it looks like just 2 pre amp fx and 2 post amp fx slot
what if I have created in my studio my own profile with 3 or 4 fx pre and 3 or 4 fx post amp/cab ?
Then you'll have to adjust the rig. Not sure how that will work. Definitely a few compromises will be made.

No display? Kind of let down by that.
The whole point is to use your phone or tablet. Especially live.....what's it matter?
-
At least for me - stereo out is overrated in a live context. The board guys just sum to mono and don't bother telling you.
-
It has 2 USB, A and B
True - but so does the Rack, Head and Stage.
-
-
Rig Manager remote app connects to the Player through USB .....
Will this be valid also for the Stage?
Charging through USB. I don't see where a wired data connection is supported.
Happy to be corrected.

Hats off to Kemper. This is pretty good for original kemper owners. If they brought out Kemper 2.0 then used values would have plummeted.
This way a used full fat kemper for about £1k looks okay value considering you get twice the effects slots and the capability to profile (plus a screen blah blah)
I don't see how this isn't a great option for new owners. Especially those with no need for Profiling and have a pedal board they like.
One friend who has refused to go digital saw this and said "I may finally go to the dark side with this...."
