No audio in headphones from PC

  • Hello,

today I received some update of the profiler / Rig Manager and it seems this somehow crashed the sound from my PC.

To explain in detail - I am having my profiler connected to my PC over USB (USB A-B cable). Headphones connected over 3,5 jack into the profiler.

With this setup, I used to play and I could hear my guitar + also the sound coming from PC, as the profiler was defined as output for sound.

However, since today, and I believe it has to do something with the update, this does not work and I cannot hear anything coming from my PC.

I tried to restart PC / Kemper, update the drives etc etc etc, nothing really worked for me.

Has someone experienced the same issue? If yes, what is the solution?

Btw cable is fine, because the Kemper gets connected and I can control it over RigManager.

    Thanks a lot!

  • Solved! I removed all Kemper-relevant devices in device manager and reconnected the Kemper to my PC.

With that, I got sound, but the PC did not communicate with Kemper over Rig Manager, so I reinstalled this as well.

Maybe, the solution could have been simple reinstallation of the Rig Manager..

  • I had this exact same problem, too. Here are the steps I took to fix. With the Kemper powered on and USB A-B cable plugged in (I have Kemper Stage, if that matters), I went to Device Manager and uninstalled the "Profiler" from both the "Audio Inputs and Outputs" section as well as the "Sound, Video and Game Controllers" section. Each section had two instances of a Profiler device and I uninstalled both in each section. Then I closed Device Manager and powered off the Kemper. Then reopened the Device Manager and Powered the Kemper back on (with USB still plugged in). It automatically reinstalled the devices--and named slightly differently now.

It went from "Digital Audio Interface (Profiler)" to "Digital Audio Interface (2-Profiler)". Not sure if that matters, but the uninstall of the devices and reboot seems to have done the trick. I did not need to reinstall the Rig Manager software.
