So what do our points on the forum mean? I'm sure they are just a residual from the forum software but it would be nice if they did carry some weight...like discount on some Kemper gear, free t shirt??

I have about 4000 points am marked as a pro.
deadman42 also has about 4000 points and is marked as Enlightened.
and Monkey_Man has over 13,000 points as a beginner.

In my profile I do see some 15000-something points - with whatever magic this is calculated. And no, it does not help me anywhere.
Monkey_Man has some 86000 points by the way... so the beginner-status is pretty awkward and not in line with what was there when the old forum software was still in place. Reminds me a bit of flaws in governmental software systems around the world in which all of a sudden people at the age of 105 or 106 years do get invites for primary school onboarding...
