USB Recording with studio monitors

  • Hiya,

Sorry if this is a silly question. Is there a way to record Kemper into DAW (I use Logic) using USB connection but also have the sound out of the studio monitors? I tried setting Kemper as input source and my audio interface (Scarlett) as output source, but still no sound through monitors.

I can record into DAW but only monitoring via headphones in front of the Kemper, would rather prefer studio monitors to headphones. Is there a way to record into DAW via USB cable and have the sound coming our of the monitors?

I do it regularly and it works as expected.

Have you set the input and output in Logic itself or just in the Apple system preferences?

If you can’t get it to work this wat you can set up an aggregate device in the Apple Audio/Midi Utility app.

  • you have to activate software monitoring for the track in Logic if you want to use a different interface for monitoring. But this will add latency to the signal. The best option is to connect the studio monitors to the Profiler or create an aggregated device.
